Del Sol Beaches

Almayate

N340 about 2km west of Torre del Mar. The beach is public but is utilised by the Almanat camping grounds (Almanat) and can be reached at several points. The main access is along the clearly signed lane from the main road. A token must be purchased from Almanat's reception office (2.50 euro) and that includes parking in their car park. Other access points are through the Go-cart centre, just to the west of the main access, or down a lane before the River Velez. These are unoffical parking places and will involve a longer walk than from the main car park.Has a beach bar which is quite popular and which serves meals and hires out sun-beds (2.70-5.40 euros, depending on the season.)

A long stony beach which is very popular during the summer, especially at weekends. Can be exposed to cold winds at various times of the year.Another beach with its share of gawkers. The tall reeds and bushes a few hundred metres east of the beach bar and car park are a popular meeting place for gays, though also occasionally used by couples.

Benalnatura

N340 about 2km west of the centre of Bedalmadena at Torrebraqueda. Reached via a slip-road the runs parallel to the main road and is clearly signed at the access point.

A small stony beach set in a cove and reached down a long flight of steps. Very popular in summer and can, because of its size, quickly become full. Overlooked by blocks of apartments. We have found it to be better during the cooler months as it is much less crowded and the cliffs tend to keep out any cold wind. Small beach bar which is open during the summer months.

Cabopino N340 between Marbella and Calahonda, km 195A long, narrow sandy beach with sand dunes behind. Very popular in summer and with a large gay community. The sea is shallow in-shore and is usually quite warm.It is very popular with gawkers, especially in the dunes where dogging is not uncommon. The dunes are also used as a meeting spot for gays. A lot of the quieter spots in the dunes tend to be liberally littered with used condoms and tissues.Be careful where you take your car. It is very easy to become bogged down in the sandy tracks that pass for roads. Reasonable beach bar though we hear that it is going to be closed from 2006.
Cala de Pino About 6km east of Nerja and on the N340 coast road. This will soon be bypassed by a new section of motorway currently under construction. There is a small 'Cala de Pino' sign by the access. Park in the lay-by and walk down the cliff path. Not for the unfit or for those with large loads to carry back.
Cantarrijan Access is via the ancient coast road that turns off the N340 at km 304 and just before the entrance to Cerro Gordo tunnel, assuming you are travelling from Nerja/Malaga driection. Follow this rather rough road for about 1km until reaching the sign on the right hand side. Take especial care going up and down this lane. It is quite narrow in places, very steep and twisty.Park on the road at the bottom of the hill in the shadow of the cliff or in the car park - there is a small charge. Do not park on the yellow lines (the preferred method for a lot of the locals) as the Guardia Civil have an occasional purge and issue parking tickets. On your return to the top of the hill, onto the old coast road, you cannot return the way you came but have to go the opposite direction and then come back through Cerro Gordo tunnel from the opposite end as you are not allowed to turn across the traffic. A stony beach, in two parts, which is very popular during the summer, especially at weekends. While the naturist section is supposed to be to the left (around the cliff from where the road reaches the bottom of the hill) and the textile section to the right, it does not seem to matter as there are usually naked and clothed people on both beaches.A very pretty spot that is enhanced by a couple of decent beach restaurants. Sunbed and umbrella rentals on the 'textile' part of the beach. There are a few gawkers around and there is a small gay population. Sometimes there are gawkers on the overlooking hilltops, including some using binoculars occasionally.
Guadalhorce Unknown location. It is supposed to be near the mouth of the Guadalhorce river  - about 5km west of Malaga centre and near Campo de Golf. All email to the local tourist authority has been ignored.
Maro Maro is a village just off the N340 about 2km east of Nerja and is reached from the N340 Nerja exit. This is another naturist beach which is listed but which has been unable to find. Enquiries were made with the local Guadia Civil, who had never heard of it.
