The Leather Leadership Conference XIV, Great Lakes/Ontario is pleased to announce a Call For Presenters.

The Leather Leadership Conference XIV, Great Lakes/Ontario is scheduled for April 9 - 11, 2010 in Detroit, Michigan at the Metropolitan Hotel Located at the Metropolitan Detroit Airport (http://www.leatherleadership.org/loc/llc14/).

Those interested in presenting at LLC XIV should submit a relevant biography, a description of the class(es) they are interested in presenting, and a completed application.  This should include the targeted audience and the objectives for the class.  Submitting a photo that can be used on the website or in program materials is also preferred.  The application can be found at http://www.leatherleadership.org/loc/llc14/_pdf/presenters_application.pdf. These should be emailed to and must be received no later than January 15, 2010.  

The theme of LLC XIV is "The Journey Continues," and as such, the focus is on fewer introductory and novice classes and more classes designed for the more advanced audience.  Bear in mind that classes should focus on leadership, community development and/or personal development as it relates to those topics.  
 
The proposed tracks for the 14th Annual Leather Leadership Conference are:
•    General Leadership and Management
•    Reaching Out to Other Communities
•    Preserving and Moving Ahead
General Leadership and Management would include personal development and skill improvement such as improving public speaking skills or effective marketing strategies.  
 
Reaching Out to Other Communities would include working with various groups within the community as well as networking with non-kink-centered groups and might include law enforcement outreach or venue negotiation.   
 
Preserving and Moving Ahead would include topics such as conflict resolution within communities, effective ways to preserve local history and peaceful co-existence with other groups in a community.  
 
Indicate which track you feel your class falls under and how it fits within those guidelines.  Please bear in mind these are simply suggestions and LLC XIV welcomes and encourages other topics that fit within the general guidelines.

The Leather Leadership Conference (LLC, Inc.) is an organization dedicated to strengthening the SM/Leather/Fetish community by providing the stepping stones of learning and knowledge to assist in the development of the leadership skills of community members, to aid in the growth and success of organizations and community groups through these skills and information and to foster a greater sense of connection between and within community groups.

Each year, LLC awards the annual conference moves to a different city in the USA, where the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) host the event and where attendees gather from around the world to share their knowledge and experience with one another, fostering a greater sense of unity and understanding within the community as a whole.

The National Board is pleased to announce the awarding of the 2012 Leather Leadership Conference (XVI) to Nashville, TN. This will be the first time the conference is hosted in Tennessee and we are looking forward to returning to the amazing hospitality of the South.

Lavender will neutralize any yellow cast, green helps neutralize redness, blue works well for orange, yellow concealer seems to work best with black and blue bruises.

This color scheme worked for us and we are open to suggestions and different hues.

Zoning authorities shut down Fetish Shop and basement dungeon Dressing for Pleasure in Montclair, NJ claiming  lack of proper required permits.

"They basically argued that this is a commercial recreation facility, and we disagree. I'm not sure what I would term it, but we've only looked at this to make a decision to see whether it falls within the parameters of what uses are permitted in this zoning district, stated zoning authorities.

The owners can ask the Board of Adjustment, which meets Aug. 19, to formally interpret the zoning law. If the board agrees the dungeon is not an allowable use, the owners can then ask for a variance, or an exception to the law.

Store owner Master Ed says they will take it to the ACLU if necessary.
