| Cancun 2013 - Any Advice? |
We are looking to get away to an adult resort in Cancun next Summer (2013).
Any advice/tips on venues, experiences, best time to go etc. would be appreciated!!!

Here I sit broken hearted, was enjoying Cancun but we have departed.
We just got home from another great trip to Cancun. We were at the Desire's location in Riviera Maya. We went to the same resort at this same time last year. It was a replacement to our trip to H3 that closed up.
Desire is a nice place and the service is great. This time around it seemed that there were some issues with upkeep and maintenance. With the rain there were a few leaks inside the common areas. Other than that it was another great vacation.
Desire also opened another resort about ten minutes away (Desire Pearl). We didn't get the chance to check it out but there was less of a crowd there and so many of the guests came to this location for part of their days and nights. I think once the word spreads more this one will be just as popular.
There is also Hidden Beach resort which is about 90 minutes drive from the Cancun airport. We were able to take a quick tour of it and were impressed. Top notch accomodations. It is a smaller resort but there is much more attention to detail. I got the feeling that it may be more of a nudist resort than a lifestyle but that all depends on the crowd. The Spa at hidden beach is second to none. There is an ajoining resort that is much bigger and has great food options but not as nudity friendly. Guests of Hidden Beach can walk over to the El Dorado but to enjoy but not the other way around.
TIPS:
most important --> Travel with a group. Most of these locations do take over events where many of the guests come together for a vacation at the same time and coordinate some things in advance. If you are with a group you have a better idea of what you will get where as you may end up at a resorts slow time and be one of the only few there. We did this for our first trip to H3 and have stuck with them ever since.
Most folks we talked to in Cancun have been to H2 or H3 and say they will not go back to Jamaica.
