| Desire Pearl Resort |
We are thinking of trying the new Desire Pearl Resort in Riviera Maya this summer. Anyone know what it was before Desire took it over. We want to get a little better idea of things before we book. Thanks

We were at desire beginning of this month
we walked all the way from actual desire to future pearl it is a bit of a walk but was good exercise ( 3 hrs back and forth)
the location is better since it is close to puerto morello ( 5 min walk) and the beach to us was better
the only down side is that it will need a lot of refresh in term of remodeling since it is actually a bit on the cheap side and old
they are closing mid march to remodel but we talked to actual manager of actual desire and he told us they will refresh but not an intensive remodel !
so i dont know what it will be but i guess they will do what they need
if never you go tell us about your experience !

| Hi, yes, as the first poster mentioned the resort was known as Ceiba del Mar. It was listed as very high ranking on Conde Nast Traveler and is a beautiful, all ocean view resort with a large pool and swimup bar. We've visited the resort, have pictures and have a group going in July if you're interested. |

| Desire Pearl is what used to be Ceiba del Mar. Also thinking about going late spring or summer. |
