| Sex & Education? |
After witnessing many undeserved derogatory comments towards ‘specific individuals’ and extreme negative sexist comments targeted towards single men in the UK chartroom over the past couple of years I have decided not to bother to visit the room anymore. Over the years there is no doubt that there are cases where ‘political correctness’ seems to have numbed our sense of humour, however, some chartroom entries seem to be a good reason for the PC brigade to wave even larger warning flags and march the streets in anger.
Unfortunately such seemingly harmless banter in the chartroom does paint a sad picture of the state of mind of ‘some individuals’ who seem to be based mainly outside major cities in the UK. It is such a shame that education, understanding and maturity appears to be an issue for some individuals within such a seemingly ‘liberated community’. Please note; I do refer to a few individuals and not the majority, however, these few individuals are a few too many! |

We don't participate in blogs often but somehow feel compelled to respond in this case. Obviously we've not seen what specific instance you refer to but from our own observations we wouldn't disagree with you in general.
We've always argued - the information on a profile reveals a lot about a person or couple, but there is nothing more revealing than a peoples general demeanour in the chat room(s). We share your despair at how judgemental some people can be, which doesn't sit well with the liberated community we are supposed to be.
The problem is that we all have our own flavour of what we want from the lifestyle - jeez I hate that word - and this site. Some argue that singles have no place in either (but always seem to refer to guys) whereas sexual orientation seems an even bigger minefield. Personally we both believe that everyone is free in their preferences but without the involvement of the Spanish inquisition please. Live and let live is our motto - if we don't like something we'll just walk away from it and move on - after all, were all here to have fun aren't we? So let's lighten up a bit sometimes.
Hate to see people throwing the towel in (no pun intended) but ultimately that's your decision of course.
Mr & Mrs Allikins
