EMBARKATION PORT - Piraeus, Port of Athens, Greece
The Azamara “Quest” will dock in the Port of Piraeus. Please allow ample time to arrive to the port in your travel plans as this port is usually a very busy one. We highly recommend you to arrive at least one day prior to embarkation day and make sure to bring your valid travel documents. A suggestion of hotels will be provided closer to departure day. Depending on where you stay in Athens, please check with your hotel for available shuttle service.
Modes of transportation
Taxi
The taxi fare is relatively low in Athens.
There are two fares used, so be careful:
- Fare 1 from 5 a.m. to midnight
- Fare 2 (double) after midnight.
Taxi fraud is not widespread but it always pays to have your eyes open.
You will also be charged for the baggage (€0,30 for each item over 10 kg) and there's also the €0,60 surcharge for the port.
The journey between the city center (Omonia) to Piraeus takes about 30 min (unless there's heavy traffic). Be aware there's a surcharge for the airport and the journey takes at least 1 hour (30 km between the airport and the port) so the taxi fare can add up, depending on the traffic.
As is the case in any big city, please be vigilant and aware of your personal belongings and be careful to avoid scams.
Metro
If you need to get from Athens International Airport directly to the Port of Piraeus, the easiest way to do it is by metro.
Line 3 started operating in 2004 and links the airport to Monastiraki where you switch to Line 1, taking you to Piraeus.
The journey time between the airport and the port is about 75 min.
The metro fare for the entire length of the trip ads up to €6.
The metro trains are pretty new and nice in Athens.
The line going to the port can get crowded but only during the high season and at certain hours.
Bus
Another choice is to take one of the express buses. Line E96 runs between the airport and Piraeus, and you can catch a bus every 15-20 min. The fare is €3,20.
EMBARKATION/DISEMBARKATION
Important: Due to new government regulations requiring cruise lines to submit final departure manifests at least 60 minutes prior to sailing, guests are requested to complete Online Check-in no later than 1 week prior to your cruise.
If you have not completed Online Check-in, you will be required to complete this process at the pier two hours (2) prior to the published sailing time.
Failure to check in at least 60 minutes in advance will constitute a no-show, the booking will be canceled and cancellation penalties will be applied.
Azamara Suite Guests receive priority check in at the cruise terminal.
Please follow the signs for Suite Guests to receive this special benefit.
Guests are disembarked by color codes according to flight departure times.
SMOKING
There is a No Smoking Policy in place for the entire ship.
There is one designated smoking area located on the starboard section of the Pool Deck.
This space is clearly marked as dedicated for smoking.
A fine of $250.00 will be imposed for smoking in your cabin.
INTERNET ACCESS
Cell phones and internet work on board, but there is a steep price tag involved and as with any cruise liner connection may be slow or not available at all times.
This is beyond our control.
Check with your phone plan provider for current international rates.
There are 4 different internet packages available upon registration for your e-docs.

No refunds will be given to individuals who fail to bring proper documentation.
A valid passport is required; visas are required where they apply.
This includes Europe, Asia, Central and South America.
ONBOARD PAYMENTS
All Azamara ships operate on a cashless system.
Guests can validate their Azamara Charge Card with their Visa, MasterCard, Novus, or American Express card, or sign for payment by cash or traveler's check.
Guests can then sign all on-board services and purchases to their account. At the end of the cruise, guests will receive a completely itemized statement.
Azamara does not accept personal checks, and only U.S. currency is accepted aboard the ships.
An ATM is available on board.
Guests are able to obtain cash by using their MasterCard, VISA or American Express card, or they can use a bank card belonging to such as Cirrus-Plus, Honors, Shazam, Alert, Yankee 24,
Pulse, ATH, NYCE, MAC, Magicline, Star System, Oath and Tyme.
The price of your cruise includes ship accommodations, ocean transportation, all meals, some beverages and entertainment aboard the vessel.
Not included are alcoholic beverages, except for house red and white wine with lunch and dinner.
All prices are per person, based on double occupancy of the stateroom, and are quoted in US dollars
The cruise price does not include air transportation, transfers or items of a personal nature, such as shore excursions,
alcoholic beverages except house wine with lunch and dinner, photographs, extra gratuities you may want to issue, medical services, etc.
In addition, Azamara Cruises separately assesses airport facility charges and certain departure taxes and other taxes/fees that are implemented by various governments and semi-governmental agencies.
Such assessment is subject to change without notice at any time whether or not you have a confirmed booking under deposit, or if you have made final payment.
Accounts can also be settled by cash or travelers checks and guests may cash a personal check at the Guest Relations Desk.
Guests may cash one check per bank account per cruise as follows:
- One unguaranteed check up to $200.00 USD.
Only checks written in US dollars which are drawn against a US bank can be accepted. Personal checks cannot be used to settle an onboard account at the end of the cruise.
Most major foreign currencies can be exchanged for US dollars onboard at the Guest Relations Desk. Please note that guests cannot exchange more than $1000 USD total per day in travelers checks, personal checks and foreign currency.
Everyone has been charged gratuities in advance, so they will be pre-paid the minute you arrive on board.
You may add additional amounts for any of the ship's staff that gave you exceptional service and/or made your stay on the ship a memorable one.
There is an envelope that will be left in your cabin on the last night of the cruise for gratuities.
Since you already pre-paid them before you sailed, you do not need to do anything with this envelope, unless you decide you want to tip extra.
The pre-paid gratuities also cover your wait staff in the main dining area and your cabin steward. You still have to pay gratuities for alcoholic drinks, spa services and other amenities.
FUEL SUPPLEMENT POLICY
Azamara Cruises reserves the right to impose a fuel supplement on all guests if the price of West Texas Intermediate fuel exceeds $65.00 per barrel.
The fuel supplement for 1st and 2nd guests would be no more than $15 per guest per day, to a maximum of $200 per cruise.
LAUNDRY SERVICES
Self-service laundry (complimentary) facilities as well as dry-cleaning services (fees apply) are available onboard. None of the staterooms onboard either ship have irons or ironing boards. You may not bring these nor steamers on board. However, both irons and ironing boards can be found in the self-service laundry facility on Deck 7, mid-ship.
EXCURSIONS
Closer to the cruise departure date your registration numbers for the online check-in process and the excursions for the cruise will be made available online through the Azamara website.
Pre-reserving your Shore & Land Excursions online is a good way to make sure you don't miss out on your preferred excursion.
If you decide not to pre-reserve, forms will be available in your stateroom, at the Shore Excursions Desk onboard.
All of our ships offer an interactive television system that allows guests to reserve tours from the convenience of their stateroom.
Any tickets you purchase onboard will be delivered directly to your stateroom.
To change or cancel pre-reserved excursions, you will need to login to your Azamara account.
Once you have completed the process, from the Reservations Summary tab you can cancel or change a Shore & Land Excursion with the View/ Modify button.
Then select the excursion you would like to cancel or change via the calendar.
Shore & Land Excursions are subject to cancellations or modification, depending on the number of guests participating.
In the event of such changes, we will try to give notice before the commencement of the excursion, if possible.
Certain excursions have a minimum booking requirement, or must be limited to a maximum number of participants, as prescribed by the local operator.
Not all excursions described on our website may be available on all ships or during a particular sailing.
If you need to make changes within 4 days of your sail date, you will need to visit the Shore Excursions Desk once onboard the ship.
All available Shore & Land Excursions will be provided for your applicable sail date.
If we are unable to provide you with available Shore & Land Excursions at the time that you enter the purchase section of the site, you will be advised to visit the website at a later date.
It is generally recommended that you allow one hour to get from one Shore & Land Excursion to the next.
When reserving Shore & Land Excursions, the system will hold approximately a 45-minute interval between return of one excursion and departure of another excursion for unexpected delays.
You will not be able to reserve excursions that fall within 45 minutes of each other as it is considered an overlap by our system.
SWINGERS CRUISE CONCEPT
A “Swingers Cruise", is a gathering of like-minded people actively involved in the Lifestyle together on a cruise ship.
This cruise is designated “couples only” so no singles will be allowed to board the ship.
This also means that should you arrive without your partner, you will not be granted access.
Both experienced couples and curious coupes are welcome. Median age of the group is most likely early 30's to late 40's.
It is clothing optional only on pool deck and sun deck.
Nude, topless, bikini's or fully dressed, you may dress as you please on these decks.
For all other areas of the ship, a cover up is needed.
Sex in public is not allowed for a very important reason: The crew does not need to be subjected to it and therefore sexual activity needs to take place in either the privacy of the cabins or at the designated hospitality play areas.
