We had a great time at Checkmate! The staff were professional and accomodating. We appreciated the clubs couple and single lady only policy. The guests were attractive and open minded, featuring some beautiful and sexy couples. The lockers and playrooms were tidy and well maintained. We will be back!

We traveled to NYC for vacation and had been inspired by an SDC story to attend. We were able to attend for the Saturday party for our first time. With it being couples and single females it was hot to be around so many sexy people. The service was amazing and all of the employees so helpful. The playrooms were clean and well arranged! Definitely an upscale experience that we will travel to again!! We recommend anyone who gets the chance to visit, don’t hesitate.

One of the best experiences I have had in NYC as a single female was how impressed I was by the niceness and cleanliness of the establishment. I was especially happy with how well they treated me as a single woman and how accommodating they were when I invited friends visiting from out of town. I will definitely be back.

We absolutely love Checkmate ! It was one of the most upscale classy clubs with the most attractive people we’ve ever seen at any club anywhere in the world. We have literally been to clubs all over the world and no other club has the combination of such a high class beautiful club with absolutely eye candy patrons, all we’re incredibly attractive and dressed so classy & upscale !

We were on vacation in December in NY and wanted to play with a few couples. We chose this and it was a great find. The first thing we loved was the only presence of couples, no singles. Selection and evaluation before being sent. The care for customers of privacy security and kindness. We chose Friday's party because we had to leave on Saturday and it was great. Beautiful couples very hot evening, we played with a beautiful and elegant couple and it was amazing. If you're in NY and looking for a hot night, it's the right club. Unfortunately we landed on a long weekend and I’m sure that really affected how many people were there as all of New York seemed quite quiet from all of our past experiences. The club is sexy and some sexy clientele. Thanks for letting us join your party We hope to be back soon

This club is one of the best in NYC, First, the location is good. Let me start by the receptionist and the nice lady who showed us around, very nice and professional. Inside everyone knows what to do professionally and nicely. The bar is very well kept, the dj is superb, and the general atmosphere in the setting area is nice. You don’t have to do anything if you don’t like, and the playing area is very nice. I like that the security guy around the corner to make sure nothing crazy happens (some clubs has people taking their phone inside). Is it worth the price? In my opinion yes, though I understand why some will see it high but believe me I’ve seen bad places in NYC and around that only couple of $10 cheaper but won’t hold the same level of security and professionalism! Keep it up checkmate

For every good review there is a bad review and the only way to found out is to go yourself. Although expensive in comparison to club prices in the uk we had a 1st class experience at Checkmate. All the staff were warm, welcoming and sexy as hell. They ensured we were well looked after all night. The club is smallIsh but intimate nor pokey with a dance floor, bar and plenty of seating to help you mingle and chat. We found the other members super friendly and there were lots of hot ladies which C found very much to her liking. We would say this is the most friendly club we have ever attended with lots of sexy couples and exceptional ladies. The playrooms out the back were clean and always cleaned up after any activity. All in all we met some very warm and friendly people and had lots of fun. We enjoyed ourself so much we will be coming back on Weds before we fly home. A great start to our holiday. L&C

This was our first visit to Checkmates and exceeded our expectations. The party was fun with the DJ playing great dancing music. The people were hot, welcoming, and sexy. They have several playrooms which are “freshened up” frequently through the evening. More importantly, the sex was hot! We’ll be back on our next visit to NYC!

I have been going to Checkmate for almost 20 years and must say it is by far the best on premise swing club in NYC. Of course its always random and depends on the crowd but even on a "bad" night, Checkmate is far better than most any vanilla night out in the city and ranks as one of the better clubs in the country and certainly the best in the north east...some of the women I have had sex with at Checkmate were the best experiences I have had sexually in this lifestyle. My wife and I have been to Checkmate about a dozen times. It is a couples-only club. All the visits were good. Some great. We've tried one other place, Bowery Bliss, but were very disappointed. Everybody was sitting around talking. Few sexy people. Felt like we were at a Tupperwar party. We left at midnight for Checkmate. An expensive night. (Checkmate is generally $90-140, depending on the event). The Checkmate crowd is 30-50. Everyone is well dressed. Probably about 20% were what one would consider "hot." (And no one has ever been gross.) The main room is where the bar is (BYOB) and where everybody hangs out until about 12-12.30. Decor is '70's kitsch. There's conversation. And lots of touching. Some women are dressed in very revealing outfits. The DJ is good and the bartender is a lot of fun. And Monica, the hostess/owner, is a riot. One moves from there to the changing room which is out in the open. Lockers are available and they have someone there monitoring them, so no need to worry. Everyone just undresses while others watch. Hot. There are 2 bathrooms and a shower off of the changing area. Then you go into the "back" where there are 3 small rooms and one large room. Couples usually wander back and look into the rooms several times and eventually decide and go in and "stake out" a space on one of the beds. Generally there's lots of oral sex at the outset where you're right next to another couple doing the same thing. Most couples will start touching the couple next to them, especially girl-girl. Sometimes it moves to exchanging oral sex. The only full swapping we've been aware of was sets of couples who come together (there was a set of 6 people next to us swapping back and forth the last time we were there.) It's a visual scene where you're fucking while watching other do the same. If you want a multiple full-swap experience, then it's probably not your place. And, as it gets later, there are people walking around naked out in the main room to get drinks, etc. There is no drama. Everyone has always been very classy and thoughtful. We plan on going back 6-8 times a year.

We've been to Checkmate a number of times and without question, Checkmate is our favorite club. We've been to most of the other swing clubs in NYC and Checkmate has all that we are looking for - we've never had a bad experience there. First, Monica and the rest of her team are awesome. So nice and friendly and they make the experience fun and classy every time. They care about their customers and every event they host. The club itself is great. You have REAL lockers in a separate and spacious area. Not little cubes that barely fit a pair of shoes, but tall vertical lockers that fit two people's clothes. And they have showers. It may sound minor, but things like this actually matter. Also ... spacious and nice open play areas as well as several smaller rooms for more intimate encounters. The main bar and dance floor/socializing area is spacious and set up well and provides a great space to get to meet the other couples there. The other thing we really like ... The other members are really friendly and social. Our experience at other clubs is that people are often shy and/or not friendly. It's a relaxed vibe and the couples at Checkmate are comfortable with themselves and the others there. Checkmate's velvet rope policy is good too. The members are more on the attractive and in shape side than not - always a plus. Checkmate is just a few notches above the rest, in our opinion. Well, I understand many of the comments, but it was exactly what we wanted for a first time playing. Why? because it was filled with good to very good looking people. They were all established and yes it comes off arrogant but with an outgoing person unafraid to start a conversation you'll find all very approachable and friendly. Our first time there the crowd just seemed to allow us to take part, but our second visit was far more like friends. What I noticed is most are smart and interesting. I was shocked because I expected people to be seedy. No so. In fact the reverse. My wife wanted to try it once and was okay with the second visit, but now she wants once a month. So, I know we're such newbies to this but I have to give it 8 out of 10.

this was our first visit to checkmates and only have great things to say about it. very sexy crowd and great play area. we will def go again, the only downside is that the price is kinda high. they charged us 140

Reading the comments here can be misleading. Checkmates aims at attracting a very nice crowd. International, european and trendy New Yorkers. Surely the door is not opened to any out of towner looking to take a glimpse to the Manhattan nights. We go once in a while at checkmate, we are far from being regulars but are always warmly welcomed. Bartender are always very sexy (boys or girls) and give the name of any swinger club where you can speak music with the DJ while watching beautiful people partying? The only downside we ww find is sometime the AC is a bit too cold...maybe a way to get you doing warming exrcices! If you want to spend a good night, with sexy and young people, stop looking, you found!

we went last night to checkmate and it was just not what we where expecting ,the stuff are very rude ,forget the the place its very cold and not fun! its kind off cheesy looking with all the 70" style decor

We can not understand why anyone would have recommended this place to us. It was just play awful. Felt like taking back the tip we gave to the concierge that suggested it. Staff was down right abusive and the guests all posers. The advertized price was a lie...they banged us out for $150. A total waste of time!

Tried this club last week with my husband while in town and we were very disappointed. The crowd is very clicky filled with very arrogant people. There were about 14 couples when we arrived and maybe another 7 that wondered in over the next two hours. We wouldn't have minded if at least they had something to be arrogant about. While not a bad looking crowd they were far from the type that should be so full of themselves attitudes. And the staff was as arrogant as the guests in that you should feel blessed we let you in type of way. You always hear of a NYC attitude, well this was the ONLY place we truly experienced it during our visit last week. If you are visiting NYC like we were pick another place, unless you think being abused and ripped off is fun. Will give it a few points for ambiance and it was clean Ellen
