Our first visit to Pearl was magical. We had such fun. This time was such a let down. Some of it is not the fault of Pearl. Please don't mistake being disappointed in weather and falling ill with a stomach bug as being the fault of the Pearl staff. It isn't. However, the part that is workable on their end is the biggest fault line....the beach. It's unusable. The sargassum seaweed problem has actively gotten worse. The Puerto Morelos area has a slight head up on fixing part of it and making the beach usable, otherwise the other hotels and resorts become ghost towns. Look, not everyone is into the LS. Desire is friendly to that whereas someplace like Sandals and Couples are hostile, or at least their clientele are hostile to it. No matter. Food: Ate at Suki and Pearl and had a meal delivered twice due to a lack of reservation times. Suki is fine. The wait staff is attentive and food is presented well. Flavors there are asian and combination styles, but they do well for it. 4/5 stars Pearl went up a notch since the last visit. Excellent offerings and the group at our table all had impressive fare. 5/5 Aphrodite is the lunch and breakfast cafe, it also serves dinner now too, although we didn't partake there for it. The staff is incredible and they get to know your needs right away. The cooks might have changed a little because the meats were a little greasier than usual this trip. so 4.5/5 Pool is fine. HotTub is always active. Shows at night were great, but the DJ's picked for pre-club were substandard. Last trip the live bands were better and really played to the audience. When you have someone blasting Pitbull and the audience is roughly 45y/o in avg? Yeah try to 80's and 90's shit dude. You aren't playing to 23 yr olds. The staff at Desire are really great. The playmakers make everything fun. Its a great resort and if you don't like the beach, you'll likely have a great time, possibly find a great couple or couples to hang with, hook up with, or maybe just reconnect with your loved one. If the beach were usable, we'd be back, unfortunately it isn't. We're going to try another clothing optional resort next, specifically because it offers water sports like scuba as part of their package, but we're hoping we hear that Desire got its act together and figured out a way to get rid of or at least mitigate the sw problem.

Excellent time. Food was good to very good. Service was extremely attentive. Facility cleanliness and repair was superb. Giftshop sundries were very, very expensive. Don't leave your sunblock home like we did or it will cost you $35+ USD. We plan to go back next year.

Desire Pearl

We visited pearl in March 2021. We loved the rqesort but pearl may not be for us. The hotel, staff and food are definitely a 10+. The reason why this resorts is not for us, is because the vast majority of the people that come to this resort are their late 60's - 80's.

El evento me pareció bien a secas, de parte de los organizadores considero que todo estuvo de maravilla, con algunas áreas de oportunidad para mejorar pero sin demeritar de ninguna manera el esfuerzo realizado para presentar este bonito evento, definitivamente felices de haber participado. Si acaso recomendaría al staff de SDC coordinar mas animación y mas actividades interactivas durante el evento para fomentar la integración de las parejas que participan en el mismo. Ahora bien, en cuanto al hotel, si tengo algunos comentarios respecto a áreas de oportunidad que hay que mejorar, de entrada sabemos que el hotel es tiene un precio alto por la experiencia que permite tener a los visitantes, pero de eso a tener niveles bajos de servicio en un evento de este tipo me parece no aceptable, por ejemplo, el mesero de la playa (Solo había uno) tardaba casi una hora en hacer sus rondas; la barra libre deja mucho que desear pues las bebidas son preparadas con licores de muy baja calidad, en algunos casos genéricos, en muchas ocasiones no había ni siquiera popotes para las bebidas, en muchas otras ocasiones se les acabó el licor o se les acababan los condimentos o ingredientes para ciertos platillos; estuvimos una buena cantidad de horas sin luz ni clima uno de los días en el evento y cuando llamé a recepción para pedir un tiempo estimado de reconexión me dijeron "No Sabemos"; contraté habitación Garden View y me dieron habitación Parking View (Era Garden View con vista al estacionamiento); Ofrecieron un menú para la cena de blanco y no había en stock algunos de los platillos del menú (Venado); Contraté una cena romántica en playa y batallamos tremendamente para que nos lo dieran, primero nos ofrecieron un lugar, luego nos cancelaron, luego otro, luego se equivocaron y finalmente si se logró el servicio pero después de todos los incidentes; en fin, son pequeños detalles que se deben mejorar en un hotel de este nivel.

We had an amazing time with great friends and a very good staff. Great activities and shows. The new beach parties were a good addition this year. I recommend more activities by the pool specially at night. The Hotel needs upgrades, AC will break often, sorry but this is not a four star hotel.

todo super bien lo unico que me ha molestado siempre que al pagar los extras nunca tienen vuelto si uno paga en dolares y nos dan el vuelto en pesos mexicanos ..no es posible que los empleados hechen la culpa a administracion de no darles billetes mas pequeños ..resto fantastico ..

A too short trip to paradise

We are fans of the resort, this our seventh visit to Desire Riviera Maya plus one visit to Cabo before the format evolution. Also, this was our fourth year within the Week 43 Group. Many of the members of the Group are not out there and as rowdy as some groups we have seen. However, that is fine with us. We really like the Group’s participants, they are great people, and we had fun. The resort is beautiful, but more so is the staff. From the moment we step out of the taxi, Arcor gives us that welcome home hug, we feel the hospitality and warmth from every staff person at the resort that look after us while we’re there. Really, to us the wonderful staff makes an otherwise average stone and plaster property, our vacation destination choice. We don’t have a lot of money and we’re not Premier Guests. But, you wouldn’t know that from the way the staff work above and beyond to make our stay special, and take care of our every desire. We could give special shout outs to Sylvia, Africa, Miguel, Candido, Leo, Alfonzo, Carlos, Alberto, Daniel, Rafael, Diane, Leo (Leon), Theresa, Matilda and on and on. That would not even touch the surface, we’re sure we’ve missed someone important to us, and there are so many who are behind the scenes…each and every one you pass gives you a cheerful smile and warm hola. You can’t always please everyone…us included. For all our visits, this year we felt a notable decline in the quality of food for the evening meal in the main dining room and we’ll never understand why they try oriental. One would expect that a Caribbean costal resort, a stone throw from a hundred year old fishing village, would have good seafood…we were a little disappointed. But, hey…after a few cocktails, dancing in the disco, and more drinking and playing in the hot tub…that f*%@ing pizza was the best thing I ever tasted. We’ll be back…hell wish we’d never had to leave.
