Monogamous relationships and ethically non-monogamous relationships have different foundations and dynamics. While some characteristics may be applicable to both, there are certain aspects that may not transition well from monogamy to ethical non-monogamy due to the nature of each relationship style.
Exclusive Commitment: Monogamous relationships often involve an exclusive commitment to one partner. In ethical non-monogamy, the commitment may be spread across multiple partners, and exclusivity is not a primary factor. Transitioning from an exclusive commitment mindset to non-monogamy might lead to challenges in managing jealousy and insecurity.
